At VectorScribe, I develop Python software for laser holographic microprinters, working directly with the engineers who build and operate the hardware to understand their requirements and the constraints of each setup.
- Substantially reduced print execution time.
I refactored image-processing algorithms, removed inefficient workflows, and optimized hardware control and motor movement. For larger prints, this reduced run times by hours.
- Expanded print customization through a new user interface.
I built configurable controls for hardware parameters and implemented new pattern options. These enable complex designs with multiple patterns at different scales, alignments, and orientations. The new interface is also simpler and easier to use.
- Unified software across multiple hardware generations.
I overhauled the codebase, consolidating legacy Python programs into one platform and streamlining the development and testing pipeline. I focused on making the code well-organized and modular, making it easier to maintain and extend.
