AMC Guide
A web tool for scraping, filtering, and organizing AMC movie showtimes.
Personal project
About this Project
I built AMC Guide because I wanted an easier way to compare movie showtimes, and I still use it regularly. It brings listings from multiple theaters into one place, using a scraper to collect the data and a React frontend to browse it.
Users can filter showtimes across multiple theaters by movie title, format (e.g., IMAX, Dolby Cinema), language, and seating options. The interface includes a timeline view of showtimes and the ability to pin specific showings for easy comparison.
One recurring challenge is inconsistent source data. Movie and event titles can arrive in different formats, which makes them harder to group and filter consistently. Working on the guide has involved both adding cleanup logic to the code and manually correcting data when needed. It remains an ongoing part of maintaining a tool I actually use.
